Default Do you think this is dodgy?...(cheap goods?!)

Guys I saw a newspaper advert featured in the Metro today covering a quarter of the page.

A company called Arash Ltd were selling "top brands at low prices" Some of these were a Wii @ £119 and lots of mobiles i.e N96 Sim free for £151 as well as other household electrical goods. One of the items caught my eye being a Iphone 3g 8gb for £262.34

They say they buy in bulk and from importers covering Asia, Europe and the Far East.

What do you guys think, too good to be true? They don't have a webpage but has a sales hotline etc. All items are apparently brand new/sealed and have 16 days unconditional money-back guarantee.

Sounds like a printed version of the spam messages we get on the forum really. If you'd come across a website promising stuff like this at these prices from an unknown company, would you order from them?

The only Arash LTD I can find info on online is a software consultancy business.

I'd avoid really, if it sounds to good to be true it probably is, plus having an ad in the paper isn't any more legit than a half decent looking website.

Cool Mark cheers. I called them out of curosity anyway and they didn't answer the phone so yeah I'll leave it.

I figured if you brought by credit card then your covered in some sense if things go wrong.

I couldn't find anything on Arash Ltd either - I figured if they are spam the amount of Londonerers that saw it this morning probably thought this would be a good deal.

Default do you think this is dodgy

Hi

I rang the enquiry line to ask for more details.

As its a London phone number I was going to ask if I could go there to collect (and see the goods before buying).

There was no address on the ad so was going to ask about that too.

But the guy who answered the phone was so rude, he answered the phone will just 'hello' and when I asked if that was Arash Ltd (didnt want to bother some poor person if I had dialed incorrectly) he just barked at me that the warehouse was closed, call back Monday!!

Well sorry I thought London was a cosmopoltan city, not unreasonable for them to be open on a Saturday! Shouldnt really put an ad in Fridays paper then should they if the dont want to be bothered to deal with inquiries on a Saturday.

I was thinking I wouldnt bother anyway if they were that rude on enquiries imagine what they would be like if you had a problem.

Would be interesting to know if anyone HAD actually dealt with them or been there.

Milly

As shown on Companies House, they have dissolved the company.

Bad News Avoid this company

the company Arash Ltd has been dissolved,

the dodgy directors of this company have placed an advert in the metro to encourage people to buy at such discounted prices that the directors hope the bargain hunters wont mind going to the bank to pay the money in to the company account.

this is so that the people have paid money on their own accord and it has not been 'taken'.

If they took funds via credit card that would be intentional fraud on their behalf (even though the whole thing is intentional, this would be easier to prove)

Also they have very limited days before companies house notify the bank to freeze the company account and so credit card payments might not be credited in time.

Basically they are trying to get as much money into the account before it is frozen so that they can take it out and run!

Please avoid this company as it does in fact no longer exist and therefor neither do the goods.

you will not receive anything and you will not receive any money back.

Avoid!

Default Arash Ltd

Do you think the Metro paper would be interested or do they just take advertisers money without being interested in their readers being ripped off?

It does not look good for them if 100's if not 1000's of their readers are conned by an advert from their paper.

Maybe they wont care saying they cant take responsibility for ads but I am sure some people would be 'assured' by the ad because it is in a repitable paper.

Maybe we should all ring the enquiry line tomorrow and ask them if they are the same Arash Ltd that have just been disolved, I know it wont achieve anything as we are not going to buy anyway but it might make them squirm and let them know that we are not all stupid and are on to them.
