Default What could she have bought?

My divorce is going ahead in effect uncontested, we both just want it over and done with.

However, she's still being a right pain at times. I've gone and "bought" her a christmas present. Theres an entry on the joint account for a £200 purchase at "PETRA". Apparently she's getting it in January.

Any ideas what it could be? The silly woman won't even begin to tell me what it is.

On the bright side, I don't feel so bad about wanting to get a PSP next week. They've got a good deal on at Argos right now ....

I think it might be a clothes store but i might be imagining things. Google shows that a company called petra also sell kitchen griddle pans and waffle makers etc. Do a search for "Petra Raclette"

Petra is also a silk catalogue - silk underwear, bedding, duvets, general clothing.
Since the divorce is going ahead, why wasn't the joint account closed?

petra.com is a US store, it would have shown up as a transaction in USD. The Petra Raclette seems possible, but most suppliers seem to be amazon or other mainstream stores.

Guess I'll have to wait until January some time then. Frustrating.

Mate it may be easier to ask the Bank to remove you from the account, make sure you put it in writing and ask them to open up a sole current account for you at the same time.

If you do this remember to tell your wages dept and any companies you have a monthly direct debit for, and also get them to swap any standing orders over for you.

Hope it all works out for you in the long run, it must be hard at the moment, but keep your chin up.

I will be setting up a new account next year, getting my salary paid into that, and I'll setup a transfer for the major bills (mortgage, insurance, etc).

Although most banks do handle the transfer of all direct debits and payments?

Phone up the Credit Card company and ask for further information on the transaction. When I've bought stuff in the past over the net, and the transaction appeared on my card as something completely different to the vendors website name, the Credit Card company have been quite helpful in determining who the vendor was.
It'll give you a few clues, if nothing
