Slightly smaller
Touch screen
32gb built-in
5 megapixel camera (not being greedy)
ability to run apps off the memory card...hang on with 32gb that wouldn't be needed
TomTom or Garmin available for it

I think that both my suggestions are feasible with current technology and the manufacturing cost would probably be within the realms of current smartphones or less given the lack of gubbins. But I suspect that manufacturers only drip feed us technology so that we keep on buying their devices. So we won't see anything like these for a good few years yet, if ever.

Care to elaborate a little more on the above statement? As I requested too many things in my dream phone.

I see LG will have an Android full qwerty keyboard phone released before Christmas this year in the shape on the "Etna". Still, 3" screen is too small and 1st looks seems to show it running standard Android OS with no theme of its own (ala Hero & Tatoo).

Not too excited by the Moto Morrison so far and hoped that the Sholes would be announced on Thursday, but that looks like it's not happening.

Mines well in the future and would be an ultra slim flip in metal and glass with blue menus and lights bit like a v80 and lg secret people would faint on the floor cause it's so sexy with auto open/close bit like the serene it would have a see though keypad and screen but also work on thought.
So you pic it up and think (open) the phone knows it's your hand holding it.You get a say 6x9 screen projected above the phone that can respond to a finger or thought.
If on a table for example a keyboard can be projected.
The battery lasts 5 days and is powered by light (like a calculator)

And it works out of the box without faults
