Design: htc touch diamond
OS: windows touch flow or s40 touch Form: large touch screen and hardware keys á la M600i but with a d-pad and soft keys too, and touch strip for scrolling á la htc s620. Features: 10mp camera, HQ video recording, HSDPA (which the network WILL allow all the time!), wifi, gps, facebook app, universal charger, 3.5 jack, and battery to last 7-10 days, calls, calander, texts, windows media player, HQ speakers (for my set up shifts!), games (using hardware, touch and motion), and a torch. A projector would be kinda cool, so i can just beam my pics onto a wall and show my mates.

I wish I knew whether iPhone was going to get all those features too.

You pretty much hit it on the head in one majed!
Ok, I'd ask for 2 days battery life. 32GB integrated plus a memory card slot. An itunes type programme for mac and pc (not a big fan of drag and drop as it doesn't suit people such as my parents). Must have an open (within reason) app culture. ie Apple does not control what goes on or not. Must be readily available unlocked. Allows processes to run in the background. Oh and I'd prefer the form factor of the X2, but without the buttons next to the screen so there's more screen.

Here is my blueprint for my ideal phone.
Operating system would be android, the interface would touch screen with both a pop up keyboard and a slide out keyboard. Camera would have 12 mp with a xenon flash. Internet would have the safari browser with real flash plugins. For example you play facebook games and it would have all the popular social networking apps such as facebook, twitter. Also it would have full Instant messaging such as Windows Live Messenger, Yahoo chat, and Skype. The music player when connected to the internet would automatically have album art recognition whenever a you play a track and it would automatically save. It would have full gps with geo tracking. It would have full BBC iplayer support where you can download to an external device by plugging into the usb, or you can download it onto the phone or stream it. It would be both Hspda and wifi enabled The phone would also have fingerprint recognition. Keeping the firmware up to date would be very easy an alert tell you that an update is available to download, also being able to reflash online without having to send in the phone to be reflashed. Also it would be compatable with ALL OS when you plug it into a computer, be it Windows, Linux or Mac, it would sync with the OS's. The battery life would last around 7 days on one charge and there would be 100gb of free online storage to store any pics or music and even documents, so there wouldn't be any running out of space on the phone. The price, it would cost about as much as a netbook £200-£300. Last edited by phil8715; 7th September 2009 at 10:36. Reason: some major reworks. |

Ok this is a bit sci fi, but I would want a phone that's programmable via a pc but is totally voice controlled in use. The form would be just an earpiece or headset. No buttons, no apps and no gubbins. Just calls, texts and emails by voice all synchronized to a server so that I can see them if I want to. If I wanted something more expansive, think Predator, but more watch sized - a small, thin, compact touch screen only watch. Again I'm focussing more on the phone function than anything else.

Care to elaborate a little more on the above statement? As I requested too many things in my dream phone. I see LG will have an Android full qwerty keyboard phone released before Christmas this year in the shape on the "Etna". Still, 3" screen is too small and 1st looks seems to show it running standard Android OS with no theme of its own (ala Hero & Tatoo). http://www.engadget.com/2009/09/07/l...-scene-at-ifa/ Not too excited by the Moto Morrison so far and hoped that the Sholes would be announced on Thursday, but that looks like it's not happening. PS. Thanks for making this thread a Sticky mods.
