The What Mobile forum is back open for business!

Hello to all fellow mobile technology lovers,

We realise this forum has been dormant for quite some time and today we begin our long task of reviving it!

We urge you all to come back and start posting again. Mods will be back in full force and the banhammer will be used to filter out the horde of spambots parading through our digital streets.

As the new moderators and staff here at What Mobile magazine, we have made it our duty to reinvent this into the once-bustling forum that is used to be.

Enjoy the rest of your week and we look forward to getting things moving again.

  • How do you get rid of an old TV?

I want to buy a new LCD for the bedroom, but I have absolutely nowhere to put my old 28" CRT.

I looked on ebay, and it's safe to say 28" CRT's aren't the hot item of the day.

But we all know that the uptake of flatscreens is unstppable, so can someone tell me where all the CRT's are going? Thanks!

If some mod misconstrues this as a sale post, please delete.

Yep, our local dump collects them too (Along with old CRT monitors). Think they send them off to charities

        try using freecycle

basically you put an ad on there and someone comes to your door and collects it if they want it. Ive shifted a few things on there that i was only gonna throw away.

at least it means someone else gets use out of it.

forgot to mention the freecycle thing is local to the area u live. So stuff does tend to go with in days.

Could always flog it on www.avforums.com if it's still in good condition.

If there's a local TV shop that sells second hand sets, might be worth a try. Or one of these cash converter type places.

In the end I gave it to my girlfriends brother, and he was very thankful for it!
Now to find my perfect 26" LCD...
