a big thanks to horus.ra for finding the above link.

  • #2
I work at a Nokia service centre based within our CPW store in Cardiff.

Our engineer has access to all Nokia software versions, which are updated as and when Nokia release them.

If you like, i can post up every fortnight the latest updates, so you can all see if you can get your phone updated
Please feel free to email me on westd@cpw.co.uk anytime, and i can find out for you, (bearing in mind i'm not too busy, our store is a real busy one!!).

You can expect an email back within 24hoursm no worries.

    How's that sound?

    Cheers

Westy, (my real name is Dave West, if you have to mail me!)

As promised, here is the full list of software variants for Nokia handsets. The list is fully up to date as of 27/07/05 and lists the latest versions of software for each handset.

Any questions, please feel free to email me at westd@cpw.co.uk , you're more likely to catch me there during working hours!!

If you require the full list by attatchment then email the above and we can forward it to your personal email.

Excuse the rubbish formating! Copied and pasted from Excel document

The s/w version is the foruth column across after the model name

Just want to point out that the 9500 is on version 5.22 and I think the 9300 uses the same new version,

Although my local service centre was unable to load the new version, they're having another go this Friday,

                  Carl,

                        Cool, cheers.

The numbers match the ones on the list. When a new version comes out I take my phone to CPW and ask them to update it, right?

What can I expect after the update?

Depends what the buglist was and what fixes were needed. I only ever really get FW upgraded if I have a particular bug thats annoying me other wise I don't bother just for the sake of it.

Sometimes a bug can be fixed but it introduces another one in it's palce.

Any chance of this post being made sticky?

Could possibly be updated as and when new firmwares are released/found. Maybe also with a bit of blurb about how to get the firmware updated.

                              Just a thought!
